Soccer

We just had our first soccer practice of the season. I decided to play again, even though it was a little tough as I def. felt my age! This year I have talked my sister into playing for our team. We were very short good forwards last year, we weren't able to score enough, even though we had the best defense in the league. Em is going to be a welcome addition. I had actually forgotten how good she is! We seem to work well together, if one practice is any indication. We scored 4 goals in our scrimmage. She is very quick and our coach was pretty excited! Cool. I came how very encouraged and excited about the up-coming soccer season. Fun!

Now- if only I can walk in the morning!

Back on our feet.....

As most of you know the last two weeks have been some of the most difficult days in the 10 years Tim and I have been married. Michaela was hospitalized for three days with a severe stomach bug, and as I walked in the door from the hospital that third day- Abby was throwing up all over the bathroom floor. She ended up as sick as Michaela and Tim left a day later for a four day conference. It was rough... very rough. My father was a gem- driving in Monday night to calm me down, as without Tim, I was having 10 fits about Abby- who couldn't keep any liquid down for three days. After the fiasco with Michaela I was convinced Abby was going to need to be in the hospital with an I.V. as well. Michaela sat in the ER on Thursday, was poked twice for blood, had a urine collection bag strapped to her- had a q-tip shoved up her nose and down her throat to test for influenza. This all before getting an needle shoved in her hand and then splinted for an I.V. Her fever was 104 at one point. I cried. A lot.

I simply have never seen my kids that sick- and hope never to again. The backend of the virus was a cold- that robbed me of my voice for two days.

We are slowly getting back to normal- I am catching up with the house- work, and (yea!!!) the garden.

We found out on the weekend that a good neighbor of ours is selling their house. Their mortgage company is refusing to renew their mortgage. I am sad to see them go- but once again am praying for an 8 year old boy-with like interests for Nick to play with!

Please continue to pray we are done with bugs for awhile. I really need a break!
